Our Manifesto

The soul and compass of our house.

Principles that ground how we live in the world - because only deeply rooted lives can grow towards the sun.

01

Resistance and freedom

Our house is a place of resistance and freedom. We proudly keep Umbanda's African roots alive, honoured and practised with truth, together with the fruits recreated and co-created in Brazil.

02

Conduct, joy and celebration

We value human conduct above dogma. Joy, gratitude and celebration matter as much as rites and ceremonies; axé blossoms through their harmony.

03

Nature as the sacred whole

To worship nature is to revere the sacred within and around us. We understand the Orixás as pure expressions of nature, its elements, phenomena and forces.

04

The legacy of our elders

We honour those who opened paths before us. Ancestral inheritance pulses in our veins; we do not walk alone.

05

Learning and renewal

The path of axé is one of constant learning and renewal, extending beyond the temple into each daily choice and experience.

06

Help without judgement

Help and relief are offered without the weight of judgement. We welcome everyone regardless of spiritual or moral choices.

07

Solidarity that transforms

We do not practise charity as an isolated or vertical virtue. Charity may be generosity; solidarity is also a commitment to social transformation.

08

Life in all its forms

We celebrate life's potential, nuances and forms, embracing the differences that make every seed unique and valuable.

09

A place of connection

We cultivate connection with others, nature, spirituality, oneself and purpose. The sacred reaches beyond the temple floor.

10

Knowing and honouring nature

We believe nature responds to those who know and honour its paths. We understand, worship and work with its forces as mystical power, care and circumstance.

11

The power of community

The collective is a living force greater than individual interest. Everyone has something valuable to share.

12

Gratitude and reverence

We walk with gratitude and humility, cultivating a continuous cycle of blessings and sharing.

13

Ori, consciousness and destiny

We recognise Ori as a sacred presence and principle of consciousness, identity and destiny. Caring for Ori means recognising each path's singularity and taking responsibility for our choices and transformations.

A collective path

Our principles come alive through daily practice.
